Practical questions
Losing an erection while putting on a condom
Losing firmness while opening or applying a condom is a real reason to ask for help, not a reason to remove protection without agreement. The important question is whether the interruption is situational or part of a recurring erection problem in other settings too.
General information for adults. Not a substitute for medical assessment.

Describe the interruption without a verdict
Note whether firmness changes before application, during application or after penetration, and whether discomfort, fit or a pause is involved. Research has documented condom-associated erection problems, but a questionnaire study cannot identify your cause. Do not conclude that you have a vascular disorder, that attraction has gone, or that every difficulty is purely anxiety.

Keep prevention and comfort together
Pause and discuss what feels comfortable rather than pushing through or starting without a barrier. Check correct use, product instructions and fit with a sexual-health professional. Do not use two condoms together or add an unprescribed erection medicine to compensate. If a condom is removed, damaged or incorrectly used, the exposure needs its own prevention and testing advice.

Arrange review when it keeps happening
Bring a brief account of erections in other contexts, recent medicine changes, alcohol use and the effect on confidence. Seek assessment if the difficulty is recurring, distressing or occurs beyond condom application. A partner can join the conversation if you wish, but protection and consent are not negotiable rewards for maintaining an erection. Ask for a follow-up goal based on comfort and function.

Common questions
Does this prove I do not need a medical review?
No. A situational pattern is useful information, but persistent or distressing difficulties still deserve assessment.
Should we continue without a condom?
Not as a workaround imposed on either partner. Pause and retain agreed pregnancy and infection protection.
Can a forum identify the right medicine?
No. Medicines require an individual suitability and interaction review, not another person’s account.

Enquire about the next steps and availability. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or diagnosis and is not an emergency service.
